Cuttack ,

March 2, 2010: Orissa might have produced many internationals in cricket, but all of them have belonged to the men`s category. Kadambini Mohakhudh has raised hope to become the first woman international cricketers of the state following her selection among 30 probables for the ICC World T20 Tournament, which would be played in the West Indies in April-May, this year.
The 27-year-old right-hand batter and wicket-keeper admits that cricket for women has received a major philip after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took the administrative charge of the women`s game in the country.
``Cricket for women has become more organised following the unification of the governing bodies of the men`s and women`s administrative bodies of the game in the country. Woman cricketers in Orissa are now in a better position thanks to Orissa Cricket Association, which has been taking interest to provide the best possible facility to woman cricketers in the state,`` said Kadambini, who hails from Dhenkanal.
Kadambini`s first priority now is to find a place among the final 15-member India team for the World T20 Tournament. ``I will give my best to realise the goal of becoming the first international woman cricketer of Orissa,`` vowed Kadambini.
