Cuttack , February 10, 2010: Defending champions Bengal suffered a humiliating two-wicket defeat againstTripura on the opening day of the Vijay Hazare Trophy East Zone One-day Cricket Tournament at Ravenshaw University ground in Cuttack today. Three Bengal players made debut in the match.

Seamer Rahul Shukla scalped five wickets to guide Jharkhand to an eight-wicket victory over Assam in another league match of the day at the Barabati Stadium. Assam’s Mumbai recruits failed to deliver goods as skipper Amol Muzumdar was dismissed for a duck and leg-spinner Sairaj Bahutula returned without a wicket.
