Cuttack ,
February 26, 2010: Sale of tickets to the public for the two Indian Premier League (IPL) matches at Cuttack will take place on March 13, instead of March 16 as announced earlier by Orissa Cricket Association (OCA).
This was decided in a meeting among the officials of IPL, Deccan Chargers, OCA and Twin City Police Commissionerate here today. Change in date became necessary due to non-availability of police personnel on account of Assembly session.
Similarly, tickets for the affiliated units of OCA will be sold on March 11 and 12, instead of March 13 and 14. However, places (Barabati Stadium, Cuttack and Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar) for public-sale of 20,000 tickets, remained unchanged.
Defending champions Deccan Chargers, who have chosen Cuttack as their home venue, will play the two matches at Barabati Stadium against Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Daredevils on March 19 and 21 respectively.
Though IPL tickets are sold online only, Deccan Charges have accepted OCA’s request to sale 20,000 tickets out of a total of 36,000 through counters for the benefit of the cricket lovers of the state.
