The meeting of the OPL Governing Council presided over by its Chairman Mr Tirupati Panigrahi met here on October 16, 2011 at OCA Conference Hall, Barabati Stadium, wherein all the members and the franchisees of OPL-I were present except the franchise owner of Western Samurai, Rourkela and unanimously took the following decisions in connection with the second edition of the Odisha Premier League (OPL-II) Twenty20 Tournament.
OPENING CEREMONY : 1st April 2012 (Utkal Dibas) at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack.
FINAL MATCH & CLOSING CEREMONY : 22nd April 2012 (Sunday) at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack.
NUMBER OF TEAMS : Twelve, including all the 10 teams of OPL-I as per their consent. The 10 teams of OPL-I will renew their franchises for the OPL-II paying equal amount to their previous year bid price.
DATE OF AUCTION OF TWO NEW TEAMS : 5th December 2011 at 3.00 pm. Tender documents for the purpose will be sold from 15th November to 5th December, 2011 upto 1.00 pm.
DATE OF PLAYERS' AUCTION FOR 12 TEAMS: 15th December, 2011.
PLAYERS STRENGTH IN EACH TEAM : Sixteen (Both Graded and Catchment area players).
SPENDING LIMIT FOR EACH TEAM FOR PLAYERS AUCTION : Rs 10 lakhs (In OPL-I, it was 8 Lakhs).
NUMBER OF GROUPS OF OPL-II : Two Groups of six) teams each Group.
NUMBER OF GROUNDS/VENUES : Ssix Grounds/venues (In OPL-I, it was five venues).
PRIZE MONEY FOR OPL-II : Champion: Rs 5 lakhs, Runners-up: Rs 3 lakhs, Third place: Rs 1 lakh, Fourth place: Rs 50,000.
